The Journey Begins

OKAY! Since my last post, I’ve gotten a lot done! 🙂

All my flights are paid for, I’ve pre-booked accommodation in ten different countries up until January 9th, and my single 55-liter travel backpack is pretty much ready to go.

In just a few hours, I’ll be heading to Dallas Lovefield to finally embark on this adventure that I’ve been telling everyone about for the last couple months.

…it still doesn’t feel real yet. 😯

So where am I headed to first?

Hong Kong! Here’s how I’m getting there:

My mom and I will be leaving from Dallas Lovefield today, Nov 6th, at 6:35pm on Virgin America, arriving in San Francisco at 8:20pm. A mere 3hrs and 45 min.

Next is the real kicker… we’ll be leaving San Francisco at 12:05 am on Singapore Airlines, arriving in Hong Kong at 6:55am on Nov 8th. A joyful, fun-filled… 15 hours.

I’ll soon be exploring the exciting city of Hong Kong, so it’s all going to be worth it! 😮

After a couple days visiting the “Pearl of the Orient”, I’ll be taking a couple more flights to get to my mom’s home country, Brunei.

Our Singapore Airlines flight leaves Hong Kong on Nov 10th at 6:50pm on a 4 hour flight to Singapore, arriving at 10:50pm.

After that, we have an overnight layover in Singapore’s Changi International airport, and we leave the next morning at 8:40am on Nov 11th, on a Royal Brunei airlines flight which lands in the capital of Brunei, Bandar Seri Begawan, two hours later at 10:50am. I’ll be so glad to have a short plane ride after all the previous flights! 😛

Once I get to Brunei, I’ll be staying with family over there most of the time, so I’m hoping to make my next (actually interesting) blog post about when I’m there.
